Home Air Conditioner will use new type refrigerant R290

    On 28th MEP start "China Public Sky HCFC phase-out community action campaign"  in Shenzhen, Guangdong. From May 1, "the special requirements of heat pumps, air conditioners and dehumidifiers for household and similar usage," a new national standard will be formally implemented. This means the air conditioning refrigerant replacement, HCFC phase-out, China formally reaches international standards.

   HCFCs and CFCs, halons belong to ozone-depleting substances, and have damages to the ozone layer. Refrigeration equipment, especially household air conditioner most frequently consumes these substances. At present, China is the world's largest producer and consumer of HCFCs.　　

   It is reported that China's household air-conditioning industry will use R290 as the main alternative refrigerant, and will complete the transformation of 18 R290 air-conditioner production lines before year 2015, gradually reducing the use of HCFCs.　　

  R290 commonly known as propane, is a pure natural environment friendly green refrigerant, without damaging the ozone layer, the greenhouse effect near to zero.
